Support Incarcerated Learners!

The Utah Prison Education Project (UPEP) provides on-site college programming to incarcerated learners in the Utah State Correctional Facility. In Summer 2024, UPEP launched the university’s first degree-bearing cohort for 15 students in the women’s prison. This cohort of UPEP students will pursue a Bachelor of University Studies in partnership with the College of Humanities.

Educational programs in prison reduce recidivism rates by 43% within three years, improve employment prospects for formerly incarcerated individuals, and positively impact their children's educational outcomes, helping to break the intergenerational cycle of inequality and incarceration.

Your gift today will go towards scholarships for UPEP students.
